Holds Ultimate Holiday Tool Giveaway

1.  In mid-November 2021, Mr. Handyman announced that it was giving away Milwaukee power tools to 10 random winners during the holiday season for its second annual Ultimate Holiday Tool Giveaway. There was an opportunity to win a cordless drill, multi-tool, random orbit sander, impact driver, reciprocating saw, jigsaw, angle grinder, circular saw, air compressor, or table saw.

2.  To enter the Ultimate Holiday Tool Giveaway, participants could visit Mr. Handyman’s official entry page on Facebook and submit their names into the drawing as early as Monday, November 15, 2021. Starting Friday, December 10, 2021 through Tuesday, December 14, 2021, winners were chosen twice a day for five days.

3.  J.B. Sassano, president of Mr. Handyman, said, “We work hard year-round to bring joy and comfort to homeowners through our assistance with home improvement projects. Power tools play a vital role in that, so we’re proud to be a part of a gift that keeps on giving this holiday season with these top-of-the-line power tools prizes.”

Parent Company Launches New Mobile App

4.  At the end of September 2021, Neighborly, the world’s largest franchisor of home service brands, announced the launch of the company’s new mobile app in the US, available for both iOS and Android and designed to quickly and easily connect homeowners with top local service professionals to address their home maintenance and enhancement needs.

5.  Between the time of the announcement and Dec. 31, 2021, those who downloaded and began using the app had the opportunity to enter a sweepstakes in the U.S. for a chance to win daily prizes, with three grand prize awards of $10,000 each awaiting three lucky winners.

6.  The Neighborly app is a homeowner’s go-to platform for connecting with local Neighborly home service franchise brands through the use of primary features including a “click to call” capability for scheduling made easy, service status update notifications, exclusive offers and promotions, and expert tips to empower customers to hire with confidence thanks to Neighborly’s Done Right Promise.

Company History

13.  Mr. Handyman was founded in 1996 by David Lavalle in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. The company provides residential and commercial repair services by experienced technicians and skilled craftsmen. After just a few years of running the business, Lavalle sold Mr. Handyman to Service Brands International, a Michigan-based franchisor in 2000. Later that year, Service Brands International began franchising Mr. Handyman.

14.  Over the next decade and a half, Mr. Handyman grew around the United States. Then in 2015, Service Brands International (and all of its franchise brands) was acquired by The Dwyer Group, which later changed its name to Neighborly. Today, there are Mr. Handyman locations all across the U.S., Canada, China, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.
