Easy To Build DIY Dog Bowl Stand

Here’s a fun DIY project idea to keep you busy and entertained for the week! As taught by The Daily DIYer on YouTube, you’ll learn how to build a dog bowl stand for your fur babies using some scrap wood and dog bowls from the Dollar store.

Materials:

  • 1×12 piece of wood
  • 1×4 pieces of wood pallet
  • Scrap wood for the legs
  • Wood glue
  • Ruler or tape measure
  • Pencil
  • Electric jigsaw
  • Nail
  • Painter’s tape
  • White chalk paint
  • Wood stain
  • Polycrylic
  • Dollar store dog bowls

Directions:

Step 1

Place the dog bowls on top of the wood base, then measure the length and width that you need making sure that the dog bowls would fit in the rectangle with allowance. Cut the rectangle, then place the dog bowls on top again, and put them facing down. Trace the shape of the rim onto the wood base, then cut the circle out with about½” allowance, you can slide the dog bowls in to check if it will fit and not fall through. Sand the piece of wood both on top and under. Grab the pallet wood pieces and cut 4 pieces to the size that would frame the wood base around, then sand each piece nicely, and attach them around the wood base.

Step 2

Cut 4 pieces of scrap wood for the legs to about 12″ or as much as needed, and sand them properly before attaching them to the base. Stain the base with wood stain except for the legs. Attach 2 short braces in between each pair of legs, then 1 long brace connecting them in the middle. Put some painter’s tape under the frame of the base so that you don’t paint them accidentally. Coat the legs twice with white chalk paint, then let it dry completely, and the wood stain cure overnight. Seal them with polyacrylic and place the dog bowls on the stand.
