Emily Levine’s Handbags Are a Boho Dream

Her feed is an ASMR haven of knotting block-print scarves into dumpling-shaped bags, and vintage silk sarees into totes. Meet Emily Levine, a Milan-based designer by way of New York, and her namesake brand of handbags, beaded jewelry, and ready-to-wear.

After a three-year stint designing at Etro, Levine decided to take her knowledge of textiles, the patterns she fell in love with in India, and the Japanese folding techniques she became fascinated with, and fuse them into her line of handbags. Each bag is handcrafted in India by local female artisans working to support their families. Taking on the Japanese MO “Wabi-Sabi,” the concept of accepting and appreciating imperfections and seeing theme as beautiful, each piece is unique. From there, Levine expanded her line to nostalgic beaded jewelry reminiscent of those you made during recess, and summer wear of flowy tunics and crochet tops. She’s even added hand-printed pillowcases to her roster.
