Hecate and I are still excited for Halloween, even though it’s of course going to be different this year. I’m bummed that it’s falling on a Saturday too because the last time it fell on a Saturday I got so many trick or treaters. From Hecate: I have some sleep issues, which have only been amplified by menopause. I’ve purchased a weighted blanket, a sleep mask and a noise machine but a few of my friends swear by a good pillow spray. The ‘good’ part seems to be critical because a couple are little more than glorified air fresheners. ThisWorks Deep Sleep pillow spray costs a little more but it’s one of the best rated with 4.5 stars, 4,500 ratings and a B on Fakespot. From Hecate: Today is officially October! I’m not even going to pretend that I haven’t been biding my time until I could recommend Halloween stuff! I use cookie cutters mainly for breakfasts, to shape toast, eggs and pancakes. These have 225 ratings and 4.7 stars, with the same score on ReviewMeta. From Hecate: This combines my love of Friends with my love of Halloween by spoofing on the tv show by replacing the cast with famous horror film characters like Pennywise,Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees. This shirt has 37 reviews and 4.6 stars on ReviewMeta. Amazon has a couple of versions but I like this design because of the simplicity and that most people won’t know what’s off about it at first glance. Plus there’s the added eeriness of a 7th ‘Friend’ in the lineup. The shirt is available in grey, black and red and sized from x-small to 3XL. And it’s versatile, as one review points out, “Such an awesome shirt for fall, could be dressed up or down.”

Crystal earrings with blood spatters

From Hecate: I just ordered these so I can let you know what they’re like as soon as I get them because they don’t have any reviews yet. But I was looking through Halloween jewelry and these jumped out at me. They’re classic three crystal teardrops with “blood” splatters to spookify them. I have a few novelty earrings for halloween – some bats and spiderwebs and such, but I love that these are a more traditional silhouette with a Halloween spin so I can wear them even if I wanted a more sophisticated look. I’m thinking of pairing these with the Halloween Friends t-shirt above and a blazer.
